Memecoins are in the news for how few of them last. Blockchain data provider Bitquery tracked 8,984,141 Pump.fun tokens from 1 November 2025 to 7 October 2026 and found that 79% traded only on their launch day, crypto.news reported. Since 21 October, two of the best-known names in the sector have also reorganised: Dogecoin Labs was formed to put the main DOGE products under one commercial organization, and Pump.fun replaced the crosschain route behind its app.

How few tokens survive

Of the Pump.fun tokens in Bitquery's sample, 1.5% registered any trade in their fifth week and 0.2% recorded at least ten trades in that window. Crypto.news reported the same figures, alongside 51% launch-day-only trading for Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve tokens and 84% for Raydium LaunchLab tokens, and a separate Jumpbit count of 17.2% of September launches recording a trade at least 24 hours later. Bitquery's own investigation found that only 1 in 58 Pump.fun launches graduated to a full trading pool.

Dogecoin Labs

Dogecoin Labs was announced on 21 October 2026 as an independent organization formed in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation. It brings together the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer and Such App, a merchant payments product, with intellectual property and development teams contributed by both the Foundation and House of Doge. Bitcoin.com reported that the new entity is led by Jordan Jefferson, founder of MyDoge and DogeOS, and quoted him saying that no other digital asset has Dogecoin's combination of liquidity, community and cultural reach and that its potential has barely been tapped.

The structure changes who holds the commercial rights. The Dogecoin Foundation has designated Dogecoin Labs as its official commercial partner, and the Foundation keeps stewardship, open-source support and advocacy. Crypto Briefing reported that Labs is backed by the Foundation and House of Doge, and that CEO Jordan Jefferson co-founded both MyDoge and DogeOS.

House of Doge, the Nasdaq-listed company that had held an exclusive commercial agreement with the Foundation, signed definitive agreements to contribute products, engineering and commercial operations to Labs for an equity stake of undisclosed size. Its exclusive arrangement became a long-term license that preserves its work with 21Shares on the TDOG and TXXD Dogecoin exchange-traded funds, Crypto.news reported.

The products it consolidates

MyDoge is the consumer entry point and reports more than 500,000 users; its V3 update connects the wallet to applications built on DogeOS. DogeOS is the developer layer, a zero-knowledge rollup that supports Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and lets developers pay transaction fees in DOGE. Such App is the merchant side, a beta built around self-custodial wallets and in-person QR code payments. Crypto Briefing.

What is not yet real is the mainnet. Crypto Briefing reported that DogeOS opened its public testnet, named Chikyuu, on 30 September 2026, and that no timeline has been announced for a mainnet. Crypto.news reported that neither October announcement supplied a mainnet date, and that DogeOS raised $6.9 million in a seed round in May 2025 led by Polychain Capital.

Pump.fun rebuilds its crosschain route

On 22 October 2026 Pump.fun said it had launched Pump Bridge as the default crosschain trading service in its app, replacing Relay. Crypto.news reported the company's own figures: a typical buy takes 1.95 seconds against 3.88 seconds on Relay, and the buy error rate is 0.9% against 11.2%, over a testing period from 28 September to 7 October covering more than 400,000 trade outcomes. That report notes the results come from Pump.fun's own testing and have not been independently established, and that no additional bridging fee is currently charged.

What to watch

DogeOS is the thing to track: it is still on testnet with no mainnet date, so every claim about DOGE becoming a fee token rests on a network that does not yet exist for holders. On the trading side, Pump Bridge figures so far come from the company's own testing, and whether its error rate holds outside that window is the open question. House of Doge's disclosures also list closing conditions, transaction completion and asset transfers among matters still subject to risk, so the Labs transaction was announced rather than confirmed complete, Crypto.news reported.
